Tonight (Wed 12/12) they are hosting a Jax Pop-Up History event in the brewery bar starting at 7:00pm.
Come learn about the neighborhood’s history as the forgotten and mysterious Silvertown! They’ll be tapping a limited release Silvertown Kentucky Common ale and will be donating $1 for every beer sold to the Jacksonville Historical Society.
Silvertown Ale is a “Kentucky common” beer, a pre-Prohibition beer style that was popular with the working class around Louisville. Historically, it was made with a significant portion of corn grits or sugar and was intentionally soured. Intuition’s version was brewed with flaked corn, rye and malted barley, and the mash was allowed to sour slightly overnight, giving the finished beer a light acidity.
Our neighborhood’s history will be highlighted by a short and quirky illustrated one-act play, performed by historian and author Wayne Wood.
Silvertown t-shirts will be available for sale and would make a unique holiday gift for that special beer-lover in your life! All proceeds from the sale of tees benefit the Jacksonville Historical Society.
